If you live in Dublin or Grove City, or you're considering a move to either one, there's some school news you'll want to know about.

Dublin City Schools has finalized new attendance boundaries, and South-Western City Schools has a bond issue on the November ballot that involves Grove City and Westland high schools. Both could affect how you think about buying or selling a home in these areas.

Here's what you need to know, in plain language.

Dublin City Schools Has New Attendance Boundaries

Dublin City Schools wrapped up its redistricting process in June 2026. The new elementary, middle, and high school boundaries take effect starting with the 2027–2028 school year.

According to the district, the changes address enrollment imbalances, building capacity, projected growth, transportation, and feeder patterns. At the high school level, a big goal is easing enrollment pressure at Dublin Jerome while balancing future enrollment across Jerome, Coffman, and Scioto.

Which Dublin Schools Are Affected?

Schools with reassigned students include:

  • High schools: Dublin Coffman and Dublin Jerome
  • Middle schools: Eversole Run and Sells
  • Elementary schools: Abraham Depp, Bailey, Eli Pinney, Deer Run, and Glacier Ridge

Wyandot and Bishop elementary schools will also take in students under the new boundaries, but students currently assigned to those two schools are not being moved.

What Happens to Students Already in High School?

There's an important exception for some current high schoolers.

If your student will be in grades 9–11 during the 2026–2027 school year and your home was reassigned to a different high school, you can choose to attend the newly assigned school or stay at your current one. If you choose to stay, you'll be responsible for transportation.

Families will make that choice through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in October 2026. Incoming freshmen for 2027–2028 don't get this option; they'll attend the high school assigned to their address under the new boundaries.

Why Dublin Redistricting Matters When You're Buying a Home

This one is a big deal for real estate.

A Dublin mailing address doesn't automatically tell you which school district a home is in, or which Dublin school it attends. Dublin City Schools covers parts of Franklin, Delaware, and Union counties and includes addresses in several different municipalities.

On top of that, a home can have one school assignment for 2026–2027 and a different one for 2027–2028.

If schools are a priority in your search, don't rely only on an MLS listing, Zillow, or another third-party site. Dublin City Schools recommends checking any address through its official School Locator, since outside sources may be out of date during the transition.

What Is Issue 6 in Grove City?

Over in the South-Western City School District, Issue 6 is a no-new-millage bond issue on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

If approved, it would fund the next phase of the district's long-term facilities plan. That includes replacing Grove City High School and Westland High School, which both opened in 1971, along with targeted improvements at other district buildings.

What Does "No-New-Millage" Mean for Homeowners?

This phrase is the detail most homeowners want to understand.

The proposed bond is 2.26 mills, but the district says it's structured so it won't increase the district's existing property-tax millage rate. That's different from an additional operating levy, which asks voters to approve new taxes.

Keep in mind that your property-tax bill can still change for other reasons, such as updated property valuations.

Issue 6 Timeline and State Funding

If Issue 6 passes, the district would become eligible for roughly $113 million in state funding through its partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission.

Design and construction are expected to take about four and a half years. If everything proceeds as planned, the new Grove City and Westland high school buildings would open for the 2031–2032 school year.
